The following is a letter to the editor from the Red Wing Republican Eagle regarding the first outdoor movie event in Red Wing, Minnesota:

Reflecting on the past weekend, I thought about what I was thankful for. We worry about losing our jobs and about money. We worry about the war in Iraq, we worry about retiring and insurance and our children growing up to be loving responsible adults.
What I was thankful for last weekend was the chance to sit under the grand night sky at Bay Point Park and watch the outdoor movie screen. To be sitting there with so many other families and friends on such a beautiful evening was one of the highlights of my weekend.
I can't imagine living anywhere else than in our river valley.
And how nice that those companies that we support, give back to us in sponsoring a free event such as they did. It was a beautiful night for all that attended. What a great way to spend time together.
